WHY NEW OPERATIONS SOFTWARE?
If you're a business owner and If you have been successfully avoiding the countless pitfalls of the retail world surviving the 80’s, 90’s and even “Y2K”, that's a very good question! You've already developed operating methods, office systems, warehouse procedures and ways of doing business that have stood the test of time .... why do you really need to add computer aided management to your arsenal of business tools.

It's a myth that the computer will replace the systems and in some cases the employees already in place. Or that everyone from the CEO to the truck driver will need to learn new ways of doing their jobs. The truth is that a properly designed and intelligently fitted data processing system will work with your existing systems -enhancing and supplementing your information handling capabilities to make more information available to you faster and with more accuracy. It will increase the efficiency of your staff and in most cases enable them to be more productive in their work.

A computer can be the most powerful tool that you have at your disposal. It can provide an infallible memory for details, and can ease the burdens of most accounting functions. The computer can "spin off" extra information effortlessly -- generating trends, mailing lists, sales history information, vender and department performance and much more!

A computer can help you "defuse" a difficult service problem by prompting you with the smallest details of a customer's order, making the customer feel known and valued. The computer can keep your notes and prompt you to call back a customer on the date you promised. Your salespeople will benefit from automatic contact and call back features, accurate demographic information and relationship enhancing individual history notes.

Computers do not take vacations or sick days - they don't even have lunch! They can work 24 hours a day without complaint, if necessary. They do not require workmen's comp, they are never grumpy and they cannot join a union.

A COMPUTER IS YOUR IDEAL EMPLOYEE!

These computer solutions are the result of 25 years of experience in single and multi-store retail furniture management including extensive experience on two of the top five "high priced" furniture inventory control systems; advanced training in relational database design, and a deep interest in programming and information systems technology.
The design imperative of my system and software is "keep it simple". Created from the ground up in a retail furniture sales environment, many of the program's features result from day to day management experience in several different retail furniture environments. The goal is to make the program as "user friendly" and intuitive as possible so that people can concentrate on furniture information and customer service, not on operating the computer.
Written using primarily Microsoft Foxpro and Visual Foxpro database programming languages, this software takes advantage of one of the fastest and most advanced relational database systems and provides programmers with the means to make quick and inexpensive program alterations to "customize" the software to your personal way of doing business.
